My Process

Freelance Writer for SaaS + WordPress Companies - Process Share Goals

Stage 1: Discovery

(i) Share your goals

Fill in this form to request a quote. I’ll get back to you within 48 hours to better understand what’s happening in your business, so we can point your content towards your goals.

(ii) Send me your content brief

Or I send you mine. Either works. 🙂 I will proceed to build an outline based on this brief. This is also the part where you share your buyer persona, sales pitch, and demo.

What you get:

Clarity and a sense of relief. Finally, you’re not just working with a writer, but a content marketer who knows your product deeply.

Stage 2: Planning

I will give you my final quote and request a 50% deposit (only for bigger projects).

(i) Share your comments

Once that’s paid, I will send you the outline on Google Docs so you can share your comments. This ensures we’re on the same page before I start writing. Time saved. Productivity amplified.

Okay, time for me to get crackin’. You just sit back and focus on running your business. 😊

What you get:

A regular update every 3 days and more time to focus on running your business.

Stage 3: Creating & Collaborating

(i) Getting to work

Besides writing, this stage also involves: competition analysis, research, SEO optimization, and interviews. Learn more here.

I will keep you updated every 3 days. This way, you know what’s done and happening next.

(ii) Review first draft

It takes me at least 5 days to finish a 1000-word blog post.

I will send you the first draft for review. Tell me what you think! Don’t hold back. I will edit it based on your comments. #AllGoodVibes

What you get:

A shiny new draft chock-full of value for your prospects and customers.

Stage 4: Success!

And we’re done!

Awesomesauce. I will send you an invoice for the remaining 50% (for bigger projects). Once that’s done, I will hand over your minty fresh final draft.

Fill in my short customer experience survey. I will check in with you a few weeks later to see how you’re doing with your business blog. 😃 And of course, rest assured I’ll share the blog post with my network!

What you get:

A publish-ready blog post. Time to publish and distribute it!

About Me

Scored a scholarship to study Molecular Biotechnology. Left a year later when anxiety & panic disorder got out of control.

Worked briefly as a kindergarten teacher to humor matriarch of the family. Lasted only 4 hours. Had a newfound respect for teachers and parents.

Found a freelance writing gig on Craigslist. Got accepted & paid $7. Realized I could make writing a career.

Wrote feature articles for tech and lifestyle publications. Paid peanuts again but found the experience gratifying.

Had first brush with copywriting… without knowing what copywriting was. Failed miserably, even though had bucket loads of fun writing copy. Who knew writing about Marvel characters would be this exhilarating?!

◾ Life wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Anxiety and panic attacks morphed into agoraphobia.

Had first taste of virtual internships. Interned as a staff writer at a media company (USA) and ambassador at a music web app startup (France).

Started @priscillaandherbooks for my love for books. Stoked about the bookish community. Partnered with publications to spread the word about newly released books.

Wrote a ton of profile features and entrepreneurial success stories. Heartened by struggles and triumph. Did all of the above from the comfort of my home.

◾ Sought professional help with agoraphobia. Put on pills. Tried exposure therapy. Got better slowly and surely

Had second brush with copywriting. Learnt it’s best to do things twice. Stumbled on The Copywriter Club and decided to take copywriting seriously.

◾ Took on client’s offer to work full-time. Threw myself in the startup world. Wrote copy for a fashion store. Wrote brochure for a next-gen ‘vending machine’. Dove into PR, paid ads, social media, emails, and community events.

◾ Accepted a freelance travel writing assignment. Traveled to France alone. Finally conquered agoraphobia for good.

◾ Enrolled in Smart Blogger’s Content Marketing Certification program. On cloud nine because finally mastered a proven step-by-step framework for writing high-quality content — that Google and humans love!

Left 10-6 job in the startup world to recuperate from a nasty pneumonia.

Graduated from Smart Blogger’s Content Marketing Certification program on June 2019!

◾ Found a niche: long-form (and customer-driven) blog posts for SaaS + Tech companies selling to small businesses.
